HUŞ KAPLAMARotary-cut birch veneer from Russia

About us: who HUŞ KAPLAMA is and how we work

HUŞ KAPLAMA is the Turkish end of a birch rotary-cut veneer mill located in the Udmurt Republic, Russia. We are based in Turkey, we answer from a Turkish number and we work Turkish hours — which removes the two things buyers complain about most when sourcing from Russia: the time difference and the language barrier. The price list, the container calculation and the freight corridors are published openly and with a date on them. We do not claim certificates we do not hold, and we do not ship to the European Union.

What we do

We supply birch rotary-cut veneer made in Udmurtia to plywood, LVL, packaging and furniture producers in Turkey. Our role in the chain is not manufacturing but the commercial and technical bridge between the mill and the Turkish buyer: format selection, container calculation, customs paperwork, the payment channel and shipment follow-up.

We are based in Turkey. In practice that means three things.

  • Turkish number, Turkish hours. Your message is answered the same day, within working hours. The single most common complaint about buying from Russia is the time difference and answers that arrive too late.
  • Technical discussion in Turkish. Moisture, grading, press parameters — these are exactly the subjects that generate mistakes when they are discussed through a translator.
  • The ability to verify things locally. If something has to be confirmed on customs, transport or a document, it can be done here in Turkey.

The production site

LocationUdmurt Republic, Russia
Raw materialLocal birch (Betula) logs
ProductRotary-cut veneer, 0.9–1.7 mm
Formats2600 × 1300, 1600 × 1600, 1300 × 1300 mm; 420 × 420 mm pre-cut blanks
Moisture content5–8%
DispatchDirect loading into the railcar from the site’s own rail siding
Railcar capacity102 m³

The rail siding is the most practical line in that table: the veneer is loaded from the site straight into the railcar. With no intermediate warehouse and no extra handling step, both the cost and the risk of damaged bundles come down. The production process step by step is on the production page.

What we do not do

When you are assessing a supplier, knowing what they do not do is worth exactly as much as knowing what they do.

We do notReason
Ship to the EURegulation 833/2014, Annex XXI: Chapter 44 wood of Russian origin has been banned from import since 10 July 2022. Re-export through Turkey does not change the origin
Provide an FSC certificateFSC has been suspended in Russia since 8 April 2022. A document said to have been issued later is not valid
Sell sliced decorative veneerA different product made by a different method; we do not have it
Give a binding price guaranteeThe exchange rate, freight and log prices move at different speeds. The list price always carries a date; the firm price is fixed in the contract
Ship immediately from stockProduction and dispatch run to a plan; lead time is 22–35 days depending on the route

What our openness actually consists of

The word «transparency» gets used a great deal in this trade and usually means nothing. On our side it comes down to four concrete things.

  • The price list is open and dated. The price per cubic metre, the date it applies from and the exchange rate assumption behind it are written on the site — see the prices page.
  • Freight is quoted as a range, not as a single number. We publish an upper and a lower bound per route, because one number here would not be realistic.
  • Duty and tax are calculated per shipment. Customs duty, KDV and KKDF are worked out inside the quotation for your volume, route and payment terms.
  • Grading is given as a number. Not «high quality», but: in a mixed grade 1–4 lot the grade 1–2 share is 22–27%.

How we work

  1. Requirement. Format, thickness, cubic metres per month and the port of destination.
  2. Offer. CIF price, lead time and container calculation — usually the same day.
  3. Sample. Quality and moisture verified before the first shipment.
  4. Contract. GTİP (Turkish customs tariff code), species, grade, moisture band, delivery terms, currency, payment terms.
  5. Shipment. Loading photographs, the measurement record, shipping documents, the bill of lading and follow-up until arrival.

The first order is walked through step by step in the import guide.

Getting in touch

We are in Turkey, and WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us. If your question is technical — press platen size, target panel thickness, monthly requirement — write it out directly and we will work the numbers through together.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who is HUŞ KAPLAMA?

We represent, in Turkey, a birch rotary-cut veneer production site in the Udmurt Republic. The goods are made in Russia; the commercial and technical work with the buyer runs through Turkey. Our contact number is a Turkish number and we answer on Turkish time.

Where is the mill?

Udmurt Republic, Russia. The site has its own rail siding: loading goes straight into the railcar, with no intermediate transhipment and no extra handling of the cargo.

Why is the manufacturer's company name not published on this site?

The reason is commercial: this site is a sales channel, and publishing the mill's registration details destroys that channel. At contract stage the counterparty sees in full who is acting as seller — nobody is asked to sign a contract with a hidden party on the other side.

Do you hold an FSC certificate?

No, and we do not claim otherwise. For companies operating in Russia FSC has been suspended since 8 April 2022; a certificate said to have been issued after that date is not valid. The Turkish market requires a different document set, and it is listed item by item on the compliance page.

Do you ship to the European Union?

No. Annex XXI of EU Regulation 833/2014 has prohibited the import of Chapter 44 wood products of Russian origin since 10 July 2022. Re-export through Turkey does not get around that ban — the origin stays Russian. We say so up front.

Why do you publish your prices openly?

Because making a buyer fill in a form to find out a price wastes that buyer's time. We publish the list, the date it applies from and the exchange rate assumption behind it, so you can run your own numbers before you ever write to us. The firm price is still fixed by contract, because the exchange rate, freight and log prices all move at different speeds.

What is the minimum order?

33 m³ — one full 40'HC container in 2600 × 1300 format. Below that, freight per cubic metre makes the offer unworkable. On regular purchasing the unit shifts to a railcar (102 m³) and the cost per cubic metre falls.

How are you different from a trader?

The chain is one link shorter: the goods come from the site we represent rather than being bought on the open market. The practical consequence is that we can answer technical questions about a specific lot — moisture, grade distribution, production date.

Tell us the format, thickness and monthly volume

We will work out the cubic metres per container, the freight to your port and the lead time. We answer during Turkish business hours, in Turkish, English and Russian.
