Who this format is for

2600 × 1300 mm is the long sheet that lies straight onto the platen of a standard plywood press. Most plywood plants in Turkey ask for exactly this size, and there are three reasons why:

  • Trim waste is at its lowest. When the panel comes out of the press and is cut to size, the edge waste here is lower than with the other formats.
  • Fewer joints in LVL. A long format means fewer overlaps along the length of the beam.
  • Supply-chain habit. Russian and Belarusian veneer has arrived in this size for decades, and your press settings were made for it.

Grade: what actually arrives in the lot

The standard lot is mixed grade 1–4. The grade 1–2 share inside it is 22–27%, which is above the typical mix on the market. In practice that means this: in an 11-ply panel only two layers are visible surface, so top grade is needed for roughly 18% of the volume. The mix covers that need on its own, and you do not end up buying face veneer separately.

Packing and moisture

The veneer ships in strapped bundles, on bearer blocks, with moisture-barrier film. Three details matter here:

  1. The blocks leave a gap for forklift tines — the container is unloaded without moving sheets by hand.
  2. Moisture is measured before shipment and the value goes onto the shipping document. Picking up moisture is the main risk of a sea passage; veneer arriving above 12% blisters in the press.
  3. Bundle integrity is checked at unloading. If you find cut strapping or torn film, photograph it — damage is not registered after the fact.

Frequently asked questions

How many cubic metres of 2600x1300 veneer fit in a container?

A 40'HC takes 33 m³, which is 6,509 sheets. Gross weight comes out at about 21.5 t, so you hit the container's volume limit, not its weight limit. If you load a covered railcar, the shipping unit is 102 m³.

What does the 2600 × 1300 format cost?

17,500 ₽/m³ ex-works the mill, excluding VAT, for mixed grade 1–4. At 80 ₽ to the dollar that is roughly 219 USD/m³. The price holds until 30 November 2026. If you want grade 1–2 only it is 35,000 ₽/m³, and grade 1 only is 50,000 ₽/m³.

How many 2600×1300 sheets are there in a cubic metre?

197 sheets at 1.5 mm. The arithmetic: 2.6 × 1.3 × 0.0015 = 0.00507 m³ per sheet. At 1.2 mm you get 247 sheets, at 0.9 mm 329.

Why do you sometimes recommend 1600×1600 instead of 2600×1300?

Because the square format goes into the same 40'HC at 38 m³ — 15% more goods for the same freight. If your press accepts a square sheet, the saving is 14–18 USD per cubic metre. But if the press needs 2600 mm of length, this format is the only right answer and there is nothing to discuss.

What is the thickness tolerance?

±0.1 mm on thickness, ±5 mm on length and width. Besides the nominal 1.5 mm we run 0.9 / 1.2 / 1.7 mm — you state the thickness when you order. Two different thicknesses can travel in the same container.

What is the minimum order?

33 m³ — a full 40'HC container in this format. On a smaller lot the freight per cubic metre rises out of proportion. One container is the usual starting unit for a first shipment; after that a railcar at 102 m³ works out cheaper.

How is the veneer packed?

In strapped bundles, on bearer blocks, with moisture-barrier film. The blocks leave a gap for forklift tines, so the container is unloaded without handling sheets by hand. Moisture is measured before shipment and recorded on the document.
